I was born and raised in South Jersey, just across the river from Philly.

And yes, Penny, as odd as it sounds the combination of overplanning and flexibility is exactly what you need for a conference like ALA. I had originally planned not to come to town for Sunday's events but changed my mind at the last minute- only since I hadn't mapped Sunday out at all I was scrambling around trying to figure out what was going on when and where.

So even if you think you know what you're going to be doing, it's useful to map out Plans B, C, D, because you never know!Tomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09129772985016857146noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5261995.post-86805849592210375052010-01-21T15:14:44.497-05:002010-01-21T15:14:44.497-05:00Over-planning and allowing for serendipity are two...Over-planning and allowing for serendipity are two conflicting impulses that work particularly well together at ALA. Thanks for the advice!Dreadful Pennyhttp://dreadfulpenny.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5261995.post-22917423879028492502010-01-20T14:25:19.418-05:002010-01-20T14:25:19.418-05:00Thanks for the great advice. I wrote about my experiences if you want to check it out at infomavensdesktop.wordpress.com.

On a side note - I'm a Jersey exile too and I love your banner pic!Breeezy724https://www.blogger.com/profile/15901659399623612102noreply@blogger.com
