for the Thanksgiving holiday. Can't wait! Not only will this be the little one's first extended road trip, but it will be the first time Maria and I have been back in about a year. If the weather permits (and it looks like it just might), we're going to take Andriana to all of our favorite places along the Jersey Shore, like Cape May and the Ocean City boardwalk, the 59th Street Beach and Ocean Drive; then we'll leave her with my folks for an evening and make our requisite visit to Atlantic City! The gargantuan Borgata has finally opened, and we've been dying to take a peek, even though the bayside casinos tend to skew to the senior citizen set.
Come to think of it, we haven't gambled in over a year either! Don't I get a special pin for that?
(Hands shaking as I type...)
Seriously, though, it's going to be nice to have five days off. I've been going pretty much full tilt since the end of the summer and could stand to sit around like a bump on a log watching "Saving Silverman" on DVD with my brother, eating Tastykakes and Mack & Mancos, and perhaps getting a few rounds of Skee-Ball in for good measure.
There's no place like home.
