A happy milestone.

Today on the morning bus ride up Massachusetts Avenue to the library I made the startling realization that if you add up the word totals for my four short stories and the nine-plus chapters of "Confessions", the result is a grand total of 103,000 words written so far this year. I had crossed the 100k mark and I didn't even stop to celebrate! I can't believe I've managed to put that much pen (stylus) to paper (touch-screen) since that memorable cold and bumpy bus ride home to Lynn last January, when I finally broke my ten-year creative dry spell and just started to write again like I used to when I was a kid and didn't give a rat's ass what my internal critic had to say. 100k! A happy milestone, indeed.
