And now it's getting dark, too. I can't believe how busy the library has been today, being that outside it's been positively Arctic. All the foot traffic has tracked in a fair amount of snow, which upon melting atop the marble floor and the wooden parquet has turned the foyer and the space in front of the Circulation Desk into the equivalent of a giant ice skating rink. So many people literally fell on their asses this afternoon that the folks in Operations had to lug a big old crimson rug (hey, nice Harvard colors) to keep anyone else from slipping and suing themselves a nice juicy slice of that nineteen billion dollar endowment we keep hearing about so much.
Look out for the zamboni!
