Snow day.

The view from our door this afternoon. Peabody was the grand prize winner of this late autumn Nor'easter, with over three feet of snow on the ground blowing into seven-foot drifts (such as the ones blocking the view of our parking lot), the highest total in Massachusetts. My boss was kind enough to let me take the day off from the Circ Desk, which was good, since as of right now the parking lot to our apartment complex is still choked with snow, no thanks to the incompetence/cheapness of the realty that owns our place. While the adjacent complex had multiple plows and backhoes digging out their lots and access roads since early this morning, our snow removal plan so far has consisted of the property manager - who looks an awful lot like Gimli the Dwarf from the Lord of the Rings movies, incidentally - and his snowblower, which did as little as the picture above suggests.

Not looking forward to digging out tomorrow. But it was nice to have the day off with my wife and the little one!
