"High Tide"

is now at about 1,700 words. It's funny how much I get a kick out of starting a new story. You'd think writer's block or something like that would set in, and I'd stress my way through the first few paragraphs, trying to get it just right with regards to characters, setting, mood, and plot. But it doesn't. The words just flow, especially if the idea is one that's been stewing up in my head for a while, like this one has.
