On the road again.

Not only will I be travelling this weekend, but my "ever-trusty" laptop has died on me once more - no thanks to ITunes, which has fatally crashed my machine twice now, on Good Friday no less! - so the prospect of my checking in from Greek Easter '04 is looking kind of bleak. I will see if I can perform a miracle Resurrection on it this evening...

And while I'm waxing blasphemous, I'd like to urge everyone out there to eat a Bacon Cheeseburger for dinner tonight. Only on Good Friday is it possible to violate the dietary restrictions of all of the world's major faiths in one single serving, from the Catholic/Orthodox abstention from meat today to the Muslim taboo on pork to the Jewish prohibition of eating meat and cheese products together (as well as the pork thing) to the Hindu ban on beef to the Buddhist practice of revering all sentient life forms.

As we now live in a world where the clash of faiths is on our television screens every night, I think it's critical for us as a species to learn not to confuse the outward trappings of faith with the inner goodness that is common to all religions. It's a lesson that Jesus tried to teach his fellow man some two thousand years ago. I bet He'd belly up to the register at Wendy's with me and chow down, if He were here today.
