It's going to be
a beautiful May Day out there today, so I'd best keep my gaze fixated on my monitor and not the monster windows behind me opening to vistas of Harvard students frolicking on the green, green grass under a bright blue sky (don't you kids have papers to write or something?). This morning would have been excellent for a little bit of fishing, as word is that not only have the striped bass finally begun to make their way up to our chilly neck of the woods, but there are still cod to be caught in the water as well. Fortunately the end of the Spring Semester is coming, and starting Memorial Day Harvard will be in a four-week intercession period, during which time I'll have half-days on Saturdays and my Sundays off entirely; we get another one of these after Summer School as well in August. These are the Sundays I'll be looking to try and hook a striper or two. It'll be the third season my brother-in-law and I have been fishing together - maybe this year we'll finally catch a "keeper"!
