"High Tide" is now at the 12k mark, and I think it might be nearing the beginning of its final act. For a moment I was tempted to cut the story short at a big dramatic pause, but such an ending would have been too abrupt for the plot and unfair to the characters, some of whom have grown out of what were originally only bit parts! No, the end is nigh. I just have to see this one through, and then it's right back to "Confessions"...
