Telos

Well, I'm done with the Modern Greek position. My last day of work was on Wednesday, but it was such an anticlimactic affair that the reality of not having a day job anymore hasn't quite sunk in yet. Perhaps next week when I'm home with Andriana it'll seem more real. Although I'm sad that my year with the Greeks is up, I'm glad at least that I'll be able to spend twice as much time with my daughter now, especially since doing intensive Summer School at GSLIS means that I don't get home on the weekdays until 10 if I'm lucky and 11:30 if I'm not. The new head of Collection Development told me on my second-to-last day that he was going to do whatever he could to get my position back for the 2005/6 fiscal year, which would be great. And it's definitely something that an administrator didn't have to say. How is it again that I could be so valued here at Widener but marked as a "problem employee" at the Countway? The mind reels.

At any rate, my two weeks as a librarian-in-training have already borne fruit - two fresh new posts at The Library Ass! Now if only I can update Full Metal Hoplite (maybe once I start teaching again)...
