President George W. Bush said in an interview that he does not believe the US-led war on terror can be won -- a statement that opposition Democrats exploited with great gusto.
Bush was asked in an interview on NBC television whether the United States can win the war on terror. "I don't think you can win it," he answered.
Of course, this isn't what he said on September 12th, 2001:
This battle will take time and resolve. But make no mistake about it: we will win.
What an asshole.
p.s. Been a rough 24 hours - my mom was in a car accident and one of my childhood friends from Jersey died unexepectedly in his sleep. As bad news customarily travels in packs of three, I'm determined not to pick up the phone for the next day or two...
