One of those days

We have two fixed due dates for faculty and grad student loans: February 10th and September 10th. This means that twice a year the regular 28-day loan due date will coincide with one of these extended due dates (as it does today), causing all manners of confusion to us well-trained Circ Desk workers. There's just something burned deep into the brain by force of habit that makes us reach for the faculty/grad student stamp when we see the 10th of February or September pop up as a due date on our computer screen, even when we know better. I caught myself using the wrong stamp about half a dozen times today, as did my colleague -- and he's a freakin' genius!
