It's good to chase a 1,000-word month with something more substantial -- seven times as substantial, as it turns out. Although my initial enthusasiam about possibly having reached the conclusion of the novel has faded as I slowly realized that I can't possible leave things as they are and call it a finished book, nevertheless there is tangible forward progress. I'm almost there! If it's not the end itself in sight, it's definitely the beginning of the end. Ideally I would have liked to have the first draft done before November 1st so I could participate in NaNoWriMo this year, but considering all of the other stuff going on in my life this Fall I probably wouldn't have the time to bang out 50,000 words in a month even if I did bring Act Three of "Confessions" home. Maybe next November...
