Not only did I break the 134,000-word mark on "Confessions" this evening, but I managed to finish Chapter Seventeen as well. I think I also figured out how the novel ends... for real this time! I'm predicting three more chapters -- plus an epilogue -- which when all is said and done (and written) should put me in the vicinity of 150k for the whole first draft. If I keep writing more or less at the pace I've settled into for the Fall, that means I could be done with this thing by the end of the year. Already I'm jotting down ideas for the next book!
