For the past few years I've observed the passing of September 11th by posting the lyrics to Ani DiFranco's "Self-Evident", but for some reason I don't feel like blogging at all today. This is not to knock Ms. DiFranco's song in the slightest, mind you, but to admit a certain ambivalence towards marking the anniversary as times goes by. Too many people have made too much out this date over the past five years that it almost seems a better idea to make a conscious decision not to add yet one more layer of interpretation and invective to the day.
(Granted, it's easy to say I'm going to post nothing on a blog that I don't really post to anyway these days, but there it is. Peace.)
