Okay, I've officially had it with taking the car into work. No sooner do my wife and I high five each other for dropping off our daughter at the daycare center in record time this morning when we notice that Route One is a veritable sea of cars as far as we can see up the highway. While this would be par for the course on a rainy day, for a Wednesday morning this is somewhat unusual, so we suspect an accident has occurred (correctly, as it turned out) and make for a side road to pick up 128 and then I-93. I guess everyone else had the same idea, though, so it was pretty much a steady crawl all the way into town, making me about fifteen minutes late for work for the second time this $%!^& week.
We seriously need flying cars. Like yesterday. Though the thought of Massachusetts drivers moving in three dimensions chills my bones to the very marrow...
* Although I'm now officially 0-2 this week on the morning commute, I did score myself a free chai at the local tea shop. I had remarked that it was a "chai kind of day" and I guess the girl at the counter took pity on me and said my drink was on the house. So I'll call today a draw, karmically speaking, as pity chai definitely cancels out shitty commute.

Hi Tom...
one thing you should've learned in Jersey (because of proximity to new york) is that there are some places one should *never* own a car. One is Manhattan. Another is Washington D.C. The third is Boston. Only Wash's star-patterned street grid makes it worse to drive in than Beantown.
come to think of it, you shouldn't drive in L.A. either. But the mass transit sux, so there's no choce.
Free Chai makes everything better.
