Could a careless act of political revenge bring down the Bush Administration? The Valerie Plame affair continues to bedevil the reigning junta, as the mainstream media finally seem to understand that it's okay to criticize the White House, especially when its current occupants are running around committing possible acts of treason. Meanwhile, Bush's approval ratings are in the toilet, having returned to their pre-9/11 levels, and in some polls falling even further. At this point our President may have no choice but to either start another war or go to "red alert" (i.e., the tanks are here for your own protection, never mind that pesky Bill of Rights) in order to maintain his grip on power, because the way things are going the little George appears to be on the same southward trajectory as his daddy, despite all of his effort to avoid exactly that fate. I'd almost feel sorry for the man, if I didn't hate everything he stands for.
