So Manny Ramirez will remain a member of the Red Sox organization after all. His 48-hour period on irrevocable waivers having elapsed without any takers willing to swallow his five-year, one hundred million dollar contract, Boston's now stuck paying a man it doesn't want to play baseball for a team that he didn't particularly care for in the first place either. Smooth move, Epstein and Company, and right on the heels of firing Grady Little for doing what anyone else in his shoes would have done, given the atrocious state of our relief pitching (postseason play notwithstanding).

Now that having been said, I wish I had the time to elaborate on how I think Pedro is both our savior and our ruination at the same time. But it's 7 o'clock, it's Halloween, and my daughter is dressed as a sunflower helping her mother hand out candy to the good children of our apartment complex.

See you tomorrow, then! Have a ghoulish All Hallows' Eve...
