Good news -
I've been accepted to the History portion of the dual program in Library Science and History at Simmons College! Since I just had my interview for the Library Science portion, I'm hoping it's just a matter of another week or so before I get the official notification from the school (Simmons does rolling admissions). I'm very excited - one of the questions about the History program was whether I had amassed enough experience to merit direct admission into the joint degree, or whether I'd have to take a couple of introductory courses in the History before being formally admitted. Well, I'm happy to report that the department liked my application and offered me direct admission. So I'll be plugging away at my seminar in Historical Methods and Research in the Fall! The only dilemma I'm having now is whether I should take two library science courses over the summer session as I'd originally planned or perhaps mix it up with a history course...
