"High Tide"

is almost at the 10k mark. It's reached a kind of plateau where it looks like everything's about to be resolved, when in fact the story has in truth only just begun. I didn't see this false "ending" at first, but in the wake of one of my character's miraculous sex-change, it now seems as if it were inevitable from the start. All in all I've managed to crank out eight thousand words over the month of April - at two thousand words a week (which in all fairness comes to about a thousand a day, since I'm only writing two or three nights any given week), it's a definite improvement over the lean winter months when an irregular commute kept me from finding my groove. Of course I wish I had the leisure to write 2k a day, but for now that's going to have to remain on the wish list...
