Get the broom
It's a sweep! After an almost-disastrous seventh inning that had even the Fenway Faithful biting their nails and reaching for the Maalox, the Red Sox finally sealed the deal with a walk-off home run by David Ortiz(zle), winning the game in the tenth inning, 8 to 6. So here we go, back to the ALCS - but will our opponents be the Twins or the hated Yankees? Although I know saying such a thing puts me in the minority of Red Sox Nation (cf. Dan Shaughnessy), I'd just as soon we face Minnesota and avoid the unneccessary melodrama of yet another Boston-New York showdown. However satisfying getting a shot at a "re-do" of Game Seven might be, let's not lose sight of the fact that the real drama lies in the World Series...
