I got to cast some type last night in my History of the Book class. The professor had brought in a lead pot, a Gutenberg mold, and a bunch of copper matrices and we all took turns donning the gauntlet and pouring hot lead into the mold. Awesome! I now have a 16pt lowercase u with a circumflex as a souvenir.
Maybe I should take some metalworking classes at the Mass College of Art...
