Summer School has reintroduced some captive writing time into my commuting schedule, so I've taken advantage of the windfall by redoubling my efforts on "Confessions," which broke 110,000 words this morning. Although I'm still keen on recovering and expanding "High Tide"--the story I lost half of at the end of the last year--I'm finding that my inspiration keeps pulling me back to the novel, which is close to the end I can almost taste it. So why noodle around with other ideas? There'll be time enough to crank out a baker's dozen or more of short stories once I have this first draft in the bag.
