I'm almost through with "Confessions" now -- I can feel it. I thought maybe there was another 10,000 words or so left in the novel but as I finished Chapter 19 and began 20 I realized that the story had more or less been told, and that all I really have to do at this point is write a fitting conclusion to the whole damned thing.
