Fun with action figures

The other day my daughter and I were walking on the beach and turned up an original Tusken Raider action figure from the first Star Wars (not Episode I, mind you, but Episode IV!). Needless to say, I was pretty psyched. Now that the season of George Lucas is upon us once more, I thought I'd share a pretty cool database of Star Wars action figures that includes images of each collectible both in and out of its original packaging.

I remember thinking how cool it would be if I could buy a hundred Stormtrooper action figures so that I could more accurately re-enact the scenes from the movie, as having only one presented certain technical difficulties requiring a lot of imagination on my part. I still remember when my dog Sugar got ahold of my Chewbacca and gnawed the Wookie's head into a ghastly Don King-style afro. Even the Force was no match for a cockapoo with a taste for cheap plastic!

I got you beat. The Boba Fett action figure (from the original films) that currently stands in my toy shrine at my parents' house was also found at a beach--a lake beach, no less. Boba Fett! At a beach!
